| “Over the years, I learned that successful public policy campaignshave three
essential components: effective government relations, proactive media advocacy
and grassroots mobilization. I have seen too many legislative campaigns fail . . .
because of one missing key ingredient.” |

| “Many of the most innovative and successful public-policy reforms enacted
in recent years originated at the state and local levels. From crime and
welfare reform, to education and taxes, state and local governments have
led the way in reforms.” |

Unlike a lobbying effort to influence legislators, a media relations effort to influence the press or a grassroots effort seeking to sway public opinion, a successful public policy advocacy campaign must achieve each of these objectives simultaneously. For this reason, pure lobbying, political consulting or media communications firms are not well-suited to engineer comprehensive public policy advocacy campaigns. But because The Public Advocacy Group possesses significant expertise in each of these fields, designing and implementing a campaign to influence public policy is one of our greatest strengths.
While public policy advocacy campaigns can vary significantly in terms of their size and scope, none can succeed without securing the support of the “Three Ps of Public Policy” – Politicians, the Public and the Press – and each of The Public Advocacy Group’s public policy advocacy campaigns are designed to accomplish just that. This complete approach to public policy advocacy has earned national attention for many of our campaigns, including a national level campaign seeking to influence immigration reform policy, a state level campaign pressuring elected officials to focus more on middle class needs, and a local level campaign that has pushed the City of New York to adopt transportation policies that de-emphasize cars in favor of bicycling, open spaces and public transportation.
With our specialized, in-house expertise in lobbying, communications and political advocacy, The Public Advocacy Group is an ideal partner for anyone seeking to shape the public policy landscape.
