The Public Advocacy Group’s business is driven by four core principles that shape our company and influence all of the work we do.  Our unyielding dedication to these principles has earned our company a reputation as one of the most successful and innovative companies in our industry.
Virtually all companies whose work falls under the “public advocacy” umbrella choose to specialize in only one advocacy skill, such as lobbying or public relations. When The Public Advocacy Group was formed, we rejected this business model because we understood that, to be the most successful, advocacy campaigns often require the utilization of multiple advocacy services, such as lobbying, public/media relations, political consulting, public policy advocacy and legal advice. By providing our clients with access to a diverse range of expert-quality advocacy services under one roof, The Public Advocacy Group is able to design and implement comprehensive, multi-dimensional advocacy strategies that best meet each of our client’s unique needs. This thorough, comprehensive, results-driven approach provides The Public Advocacy Group with a distinct competitive advantage over other advocacy firms.
The Public Advocacy Group believes money spent on advocacy services is just another form of economic investment upon which clients should generate a strong rate-of-return.  When clients invest money in The Public Advocacy Group’s services, we take pride in returning that investment with a higher quality of work product and a greater level of results than any alternative investment could have produced – including hiring someone “in house” to execute or manage their advocacy campaign.  In addition, because The Public Advocacy Group is as committed to protecting our clients’ bottom-lines as their public interests, we never charge hourly rates for our work.  Instead, by charging either monthly-retainer or per-project fees, we eliminate all uncertainty from our clients’ bills and ensure that our financial interests are never at odds with our clients'.  In our opinion, hourly-fee billing structures create an unacceptable conflict of interest by rewarding inefficiency and creating a financial incentive to inflate billable hours.  Because we value the trust and confidence of our clients above all else, hourly billing has no place at The Public Advocacy Group.
The ability to influence elected officials, the media and the public at large is essential to meeting the needs of our clients. While The Public Advocacy Group recognizes the importance of having the right connections, we also know that it takes more than connections to be an effective advocate. Influence is also about trust and reliance. For example, elected officials frequently turn to lobbyists to provide them with a level of information and analysis their limited staffs cannot generate. Similarly, the press relies on media specialists to provide them with interesting, accurate stories that will engage their readers. The Public Advocacy Group’s reputation for delivering the most comprehensive and reliable information and analysis in our industry has led countless political leaders and journalists to turn to us when making critical decisions about what laws to pass or what articles to write. That level of trust and reliance, in addition to our strong relationships with government officials and journalists, provides the basis for The Public Advocacy Group’s broad influence.
The cornerstone of The Public Advocacy Group’s business has always been our commitment to delivering advocacy services at an unrivaled level of quality. The Public Advocacy Group’s private sector approach to providing public sector advocacy services has enabled us to secure a professional reputation that is second-to-none. By providing our clients with the same level of effort, commitment and quality that our advocates provided to their Fortune 500 clients in the private sector, The Public Advocacy Group has gained a competitive advantage in our industry, where clients are too often disappointed with the quality of services they receive.
